Broadway Across America - Atlanta brings Atlanta arts fans a lineup of Broadway sensations as part of its newly announced 2010-2011 season at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. Audiences will embark on a dramatic and diverse journey with the debuts of BURN THE FLOOR and SHREK THE MUSICAL paired with award-winning fan favorites DREAMGIRLS, WEST SIDE STORY and HAIR.
Nickelodeon?s STORYTIME LIVE! and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA are also included as season specials. Perfect for families and long-time theatre buffs alike, these special engagements.
The new season will launch in October with DREAMGIRLS, a Tony-and-Academy Award-winning musical offering fans a glimpse into the lives of a 1960?s group of divas, from their rise to fame to the joys and struggles associated with success.
The touring production of the smash hit Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY will play in January. This timeless love story features one of Broadway?s finest scores, including such classics as ?Something?s Coming,? ?Tonight,? ?America,? ?I Feel Pretty? and ?Somewhere.?
Hot off Broadway, BURN THE FLOOR will then share a Latin and Ballroom dancing infused musical journey that is sure to delight any dance fan.
SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone?s favorite ogre to life on stage.
Wrapping up the dynamic season in May, Tony Award-winner HAIR continues to transcend generations with themes of youth, political turbulence and love.
